In times of uncertainty, the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights remains a steadfast voice for dignity and inclusion, uplifting the values that connect us and celebrating our shared humanity. We believe in the inherent worth of every person, and we are committed to shining a light on that truth in all we do.
Recently, our community has been called to reflect on what it truly means to be welcoming. When a local middle school teacher was asked to remove a poster that simply stated, “Everyone is Welcome Here,” the response was immediate and inspiring. More than 250 organizations and countless individuals stepped forward to affirm that our schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods must be places where all can belong.
But this moment is about more than a sign—it is a reflection of who we are and the future we are building together. A truly inclusive community is not just declared; it is demonstrated. It takes shape in businesses that foster belonging, leaders who stand up for equity, and individuals who choose courage over silence.
We celebrate all of you who have embraced this message with open hearts. Our voices, united in kindness and conviction, paint a powerful picture of the community we are creating—one where every person is valued, respected, and safe.
Now, let’s turn this momentum into lasting change. Inclusion is not just a statement; it is something we create through our daily choices and actions. Each of us has a role to play, and we invite you to join us—by connecting with each other through meaningful conversations, attending an event to deepen your knowledge and skills, or finding ways to advocate for human rights in your own sphere. Visit the Wassmuth Center to explore opportunities to connect and learn. Together, we can create a community where everyone belongs—not just in words, but in practice.
And as we continue this work together, let’s recognize and support the businesses and organizations that have boldly affirmed the message that Everyone is Welcome Here. Their leadership is shaping the future of our community. Below, you’ll find a list of these partners—thank you for joining them in this movement to build a more welcoming Idaho.
