The World We're Building

The future we long for is shaped by the choices we make today. The communities we dream of — where every person is treated with dignity, kindness, and justice — don’t just happen. They are built by individuals from all backgrounds who pursue opportunities that foster understanding, compassion, and equity.

At the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights, we create spaces where people connect across differences, learn from human rights challenges, and collaborate to turn shared values into everyday actions. Action can happen in every classroom, conversation, and moment of courage. Wherever you are, you can join this important work through our Human Rights Certificate Program.

Throughout the program, participants can explore the basics of human rights, learn what it means to lead with intention, respond to their communities’ needs, and foster environments where all are treated with dignity and respect.

Whether you’re seeking to strengthen your leadership, create a more welcoming workplace, or simply live with greater awareness and compassion, this course offers tools, insights, and inspiration to guide you.

We invite you to join us to learn, reflect, and be part of this growing, global community.

A key takeaway for me from this entire course (and perhaps from the process of engaging with it), is the role that intentionality and consistency plays in furthering Human Rights. It requires attention and intention - consistently and that is a goal and mantra for me to engage with going forward.

I gained many new insights throughout this course but I think the most valuable aspect of this course is that it provoked meaningful meta cognition and self reflection. This course created a space for me to be vulnerable, open my mind and scrutinize my knowledge about human rights. I learned a tremendous amount about myself and feel more prepared to create a classroom space where dignity, respect, diversity, inclusion, equity and equality, and joy thrive!
